Events & culture
There’s always plenty to do in and around Hampshire, and this July is no exception. Here’s our pick of local events this month.
Beautiful Hartley Wintney is a must visit in its own right. A quaint and traditional English village, with a history almost as old as The Elvetham, Hartley Wintney has been voted Britain’s best place to live on many occasions. This peaceful place is a nice spot for an afternoon walk with its village green, traditional houses, duck pond and local cricket pitch. The village’s Victoria Hall also hosts some interesting events. This July 1st you can catch Miss Madonna, the official UK’s No. 1 Madonna Tribute Act. Jodie Jackson has been officially recognised as the UK’s No.1 Madonna tribute act by the Entertainment Agents’ Association since 2013, so expect quite the show. Having starred in many West End musicals and shows, Jodie Jackson started her Madonna tribute act back in 2009 in London, and it showcases her multifaceted talents as a performer.
For tickets and further information, please see the Victoria Hall website HERE.
Just 5 Miles away, Wellington Country Park is ideal for a family visit, offering an open air, fun-filled venue for children up to the age of 8 years old. The park attractions include an Animal Farm, Miniature Railway, Jumping Pillow, Splash Zone, Indoor Soft Play, Mini Golf and more. This July 23 and 24th they host their Spectacular Sports Weekend. Back for its second year, they invite kids to come and get stuck in with a host of different sports to try. From skateboarding to football, there is lots to see and do for the little ones.
The month ends with Summer Crafts & Bouncy Castles, taking place on July 30 and 31st. Pop into the Party and Education Room between 10:30am - 4:00pm on your adventure around the park and take part in some summer craft activity! Have a go at making a wonderful 3D card animal to take home.
It’s a great spot for the kids, and well work a visit during your stay at The Elvetham. For more details see HERE.
Not just for the adults, Ascot Racecourse has something for everyone this July. Along with the horse racing, you’ll experience some of the most exhilarating family fun entertainment, including a circus workshop, music, balloon modelers, pony rides, mini golf, bungee trampolines and more.
July 22-23rd is the QIPCO King George Diamond Weekend. With the racecourse in full bloom, the first day offers a relaxed afternoon of racing where racegoers can wander across the racecourse’s luscious lawns and sample the many Champagne and cocktail bars on offer under the glorious English sunshine. Sounds good to us!
